The biggest government  referral hospital in Zaka District, Ndanga District Hospital is faced with medical supplies constraints to the extent of  having even paracetamol out of stock.


As the Second Republic grapples with the healthcare system of the country, Zaka District residents are faced with a medical nightmare as Ndanga District Hospital is finding it difficult to cater for not just walk-in patients but admitted ones as well.


A frustrated patient who had come to the hospital for consultations could not hide his contempt of the Second Republic's incapability to cater for it's citizens.

"They claim that we voted for them to run this country but they are simply running this country to the ground. When you come to the hospital and you are not well you expect to get help but you never get it. "


The patient revealed that after paying consultation fees if you are unlucky to get admitted know that you are simply staying in the hospital beds to only be given medicine which you outsource from pharmacies. 


The meals at the hospital also leave much to be desired, if patients get fed porridge in the morning, guarantees are that there will be no sadza as mealie meal would have run out, tea is without milk or sugar if it is served. 


"How do patients get well when they are not having enough to eat?" A mother who was staying in the hospital with her sick baby quizzed.


Just a week ago the tragic death of Gerry Mapanzure from an accident drew angry retorts from the general public as they criticized the nonchalant behavior of the government over healthcare issues.


The government have not cared to comment on the tragic loss which many attributed to the poor healthcare system of the country.


Most hospitals in the country are equally out of basic drugs and services which can only be acquired from private pharmacies. However most Zimbabweans can't afford to purchase from these sellers.
